The Armada athletes will be joining the top American swimmers,
including members of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Swim Team, NCAA
Championship swimmers and International stars. Among the
swimmers they will be competing against are Olympic gold
medalists Garrett Weber-Gale and Peter Vanderkaay, Swimmer of
the Year, Rebecca Soni and American record holder Katie Hoff.
Collegiate teams will be present from USC, the
University
of Michigan,
UC Berkeley, Stanford and many others.
Brennan, one of the many talented Armada distance swimmers, will
be competing in the 500 Free, 200 Fly, and 1650 Free. Brennan
holds team records in all four events. Kirstie will
compete in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 Fly, and 200 Back.
Kirstie placed third in the same meet last year and has high
expectations for this yea's event. Samantha Shellem and Jessica
Marsh are qualified in the same distance events: the 200, 500
and 1650 free. Both have competed succesfully at the
National level for the past two years.
The meet will take place at the
Weyerhaueser King
County
Aquatic
Center in
Federal
Way, Wash. Footage
from the meet will air nationally on NBC on Saturday, December
12 at 5 p.m.
Nikki Chang and Jessica Marsh will be competing at
Ohio
State’s remarkable new
aquatic Center, host to the NCAA Championships for 2010. The
Junior meet follows one week after the National Championship.
The meet draws the best 18 and under swimmers in the country
together and is expected to be incredibly fast this year. Nikki
Chang joins the Armada's remarkable group of distance swimmers
as one of our most promising and, like her teammate, will
compete in the 200 free, 500 free and the 1650 free. |
