The 2010 Long Course Metro Championship Meet is history and
the Armada swam great. There were
numerous best times that included several new long course JO standards and even
a few new Armada club records. We
finished second in the large team division behind a much larger Lakewood Aquatic
Club. Every year it gets harder to
win this meet as we tend to lose swims due to the JO cap on the meet (s swimmer
cannot swim an event at the Metro Champs if they are JO’s for that event).
So, as we get better our team loses some of its scoring potential at this
meet – it’s actually not a bad problem.
We should be very proud of our efforts and successes at this year’s Metro
Champs.
The High Point winners for the meet include the following:
Senior Group
Randy Wang
181 points
7 events
Lilith Huang 141
points
6 events
Gold Group
Lavona Harper 136 Points
6 events
Justin Ault 134 Points
8 events
Bronze Group
Milan Robinson
133 Points
5 events
Jacob Tarango 47 Points
6 events
Relays were very interesting for the 10-unders because the pool’s shallow
end meant the #2 & #4 swimmer had to push-off the wall (no dive).
Turns out that we aren’t very good at this and we got two relays DQ’ed,
oh well. By the end of the meet,
across all the age-groups, we had 5 relays DQ’ed, ouch – that’s a lot of points.
Still, it was a very good meet and a great finish to the summer.
